Hamster Feet

Hamsters are small rat liked creatures and are crepuscular. [Hamster feet] are small, short and stocky. Hamsters have a habit of burrowing underground and being preyed on by wild cats and other predators. Their food includes dry fruits, berries, nuts, fruits and vegetables. They also feed on seeds, greens and the occasional insects. There is hanging pouch on each side of the face or cheeks. This is used to store food for later use. Hamsters are wonderful pets and nurtured by many for their good domestic behavior. A golden hamster is much desired by many as a pet animal. Hamsters are easy to breed in captivity. Hamster fur is thick, silky and can be black, grey, honey, white, brown, yellow or red. Hamsters having sore feet are due to a condition called pododermatitis. This disease of the [hamster feet] is also known as Bumblefoot. It is an infection in the foot that results in swelling and pain. It can affect the [hamster feet] and eventually travel to the legs. It is called due to the lesions and the swellings of the foot pad. It is usually associated with hamsters caged with wired floors. It is also caused due bad hygiene conditions and other sanitary uncleanliness. It is also associated with Hamster prolonged over long periods of time and those who are overweight may face these conditions. It may also cause one or the other feet to swell. Hamsters have poor eyesight, are nearsighted and colorblind.
